All documentaries, websites, histories, even conversations have bias. Rather than claiming to be objective, the founder and moderators of documentarylist.net are upfront about our opinions and preferences, and leave it to our fellow documentary fans to visit this site and view documentaries listed here with that in mind. All the moderators and founder currently live in the United States and were educated here and in Europe. We list documentaries we enjoy watching or think fellow documentary fans will enjoy. The documentaries tend to focus on history from the viewpoint of Europe and the United States. We tend to stay away from science, social problems, true crime, conspiracy and documentaries on controversial topics. There are a few listed here but we feel there are a lot of websites that focus on those topics in depth, including listing documentaries. The timeline era titles reflect our background, we also use B.C. and A.D. in all dates. Below are various timeline images.
